First of all Texas is a non garnishment state. (Why Chat's website) So, they can't garnish. The thing that seems to be a problem in Texas is the CA seems to be able to get a freeze on your bank account before judgement. Seems to happen suddenly and without warning. Anyway, that is the sense I get here. I would suggest running the SOL. Wait it out. I had approximately 10 cards, bank and store cards, and only one did sue and that was just before the SOL. My advice is to sit tight. Keep your money for the attorney, just in case you do get sued. My strategy was to ignore CAs. I put my phone on fax, when things were "hot" (couldn't pay after accident, so I stopped paying everyone at the same time)Later, when things cooled down, I just watched my caller I.D. You might want to turn off your ringer, let the machine pick up. Whatever works for you. Don't let CAs ruin this wonderful time in your life with your new baby.
Protect your bank accunts. Since you have been paying these people, they have your checking account info. Close any account that you have used to pay these clowns. Open new accounts, making your husband as primary. Maybe get seperate accounts, DIFFERENT BANK, and don't keep much money in your checking account. My bk attorney advised me not to put his money into our joint account. Good Luck. Enjoy the little one.
