i too endorse the GOOD LUCK. im in texas also. as he said they cant take any wages. they can freeze ur bank account prior to a court hearing. personally..my views..altho i want to pay my debts and i feel terrible i cant..i see no point in paying a CA plus all the interest and fees they tack on. settlements im wary of cause it seems they can and will simply add the rest of the account to another CA and come after u for the diff. i think they just want the money any way they can get it while they inflate what u originally owe. sure u agreed to it but yes i was a dumb one who didnt read the fine print plus had no idea life could throw one so many curve balls and my lifestyle would be altered so quickly. most didnt think so ..i doubt many saw how 9/11 would happen and altho some here may be tired of that reference..its where most of my trouble started. plus illnesses happened at the same time. felt like a ton of bricks. maybe i was naive but im no longer. lol. things change we have no control over and our lives change. however in my case its cap1..couldnt care less. since they wouldnt listen and work with me..oh well. cant grow money. i think their the ones in denial of reality! so many in dfw (rich people with fancy houses even) have had to simply walk off frm all they had. income has gone frm 50,000 or more a year to none. what on earth does one do then? no creditors will work with anyone and the solution is fine...i and my kids need to eat and need light and heat and water. what do u do first? tend to that family. i have not found bankrupcty hurt our credit really..altho we were stupid and shoulda waited when we did it. chapter 13 can be filed anytime..i think? i am thinkin on that again. no time limits on it altho u have to pay some back on that one. (unless i have the numbers backwards? 7 vs 13? ) ..hugsss to ur lil one. they r whats important. dont answer the phone calls..dont listen to their abuse..and be prepared with a plan should they sue. change accounts..they cant take ur house or wages in tx. they can do somekinda lien thing i still dont understand..but u have to have enuff equity for it..and we dont. we refi-ed our house b4 the shit hit the fan. pardon language. watch the settlment thing. i have no intent of paying someone something and have another CA start it over with me. best of luck frm a fellow texan!
