I suggest you dispute it as incorrect date rather than obsolete. If you dispute it as obsolete, you run the risk of cementing it to your report until the end of 2004 or early 2005, (7 years + 180 days from 8/1997)

If you dispute it as incorrect date, and it is not verified, which it likely could not be after this long a time, it would be deleted now.
