actually i simply asked what we owed..it was on the house..and paid their ass. lol. said thank god and FU to them when they were paid. i did not settle..or i think it just makes it worse. maybe im wrong but thats my opinion. this was our house..it was to where if we were 5 days late they kept starting foreclosure because the BK judge had not signed off on the BK when THEY wanted him to. they changed our interest to compounded daily and no matter who i talked to they didnt know shit. we had re-affirmed the house way back with the BK. they didnt care. i had had enuff. legal fees were piling up..certified letters as we were basically in a tenant/rent thing to them. so i just went online..found several companies who would refinance the house..(yes at a higher interest rate but sometimes u have to compromise) and it took about 2 months to re fi it. paid them off. mine was a house, not a credit card with them. let me know and i wish u luck! i too am gray but i color it lol. hugsss to ur mom bless her heart. i found citi had no clue what they were doin and i would get a diff answer every time i talked to someone. first i asked why the certified letters? they had no idea. took me months to track down the true story and someone who was truthful with me as to the real story. they didnt notify me ever what was goin on and what "category" i was put in. i guess not with interest compounded daily on about 28,000. . it was a huge mess and im glad to be out of it. now for capitol one..lol. hugssss i would never call u any names. i know the feeling way too well of overwhelmed..job losses..illness. hang in and keep posting. i wont let ya fall. :)..if u wont let me :). it is overwhelming..complicated..and crap. we need all the support we can get and no judging. last i looked none of us can walk on water yet. i am not a whiner either. hugssss and best wishes. let me know..
