I would like to try and help, went back and read your old posts, but as far as I can tell you seemed to have left some things out of your story.
In my opinion you need to be an better position before you even attempt to settle, if that is what you should do. I do not have the answers but others, including mysefl might be able to help, if the facts were clear. I know you answered the original complaint and did not offer up any defense, one mistake, we all make mistakes, relax and do not panic.
1st. you said RMA has hired this attorney.
2nd. do you know if RMA is representing the OC, Citi, or was the account charged off, sold and RMA is representing some CA. One time I got a letter from RMA, saying they were represneting Sherman Acquisitions ( a CA not a OC). I think RMA usually represents CAs not OCs. Do you have letters from RMA that might indicate who they were representing?? Was the account assigend or purchased? if so from who?
This is important because those who can help need to know and understand your position. CAs like Sherman rairly have proper documentation to prove the debt is yours.
Is the attorney who sued you local???
Who exactly is the Plaintiff in your case?
RMA is out of Atlanta GA./ Jacksonville FL.
OCs usually have documentation.
You were advied earler to file and Amended Answer
and a motion objecting to the attorneys motions for summary judgement. Did you do that yet??
Please fill in some of the facts and others and myself may be able to help you more.
If you can get them on the ropes it will them calling and asking you for a settlement, if that is want you want to do, but we need to know if you are dealing with the OC or some CA.
