Hi, gang! Ok, some food for thought before we devour another collector. ;) Here is the 1692g(a) disclosure provided by the CA. I have had some time to think reflect on it and will provide my opinion in a day or two. Thanks for your input, please read it again if you consider yourself a "pro" or "semi pro" and don't pick up on a fairly blatant ommission.

(all punctuation is identical to actual notice and TRUST ME that what you see below is identical to the notice)

"UNLESS YOU NOTIFY THIS OFFICE WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER RECEIVING THIS NOTICE THAT YOU DISPUTE THE VALIDITY OF THE DEBT OR ANY PORTION THEREOF, THIS OFFICE WILL ASSUME THIS DEBT IS VALID. IF YOU NOTIFY THIS OFFICE IN WRITING WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM RECEIVING THIS NOTICE, THIS OFFICE WILL: OBTAIN VERIFICATION OF THE DEBT OR OBTAIN A COPY OF A JUDGMENT AND MAIL YOU A COPY OF SUCH JUDGMENT OR VERIFICATION. IF YOU REQUEST THIS OFFICE IN WRITING WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER RECEIVING THIS NOTICE, THIS OFFICE WIL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR, IF DIFFERENT FROM THE CURRENT CREDITOR."

(Special CA Notice: Just because the notice is supposed to be understandable by the least sophisticated consumer does NOT mean that you hire someone from the "last rung" to formulate your form letters.)

(And well below the notice is a statement that the "Federal Validation Notice" is on the reverse side. The reverse side contains a statement identical to the one above with the exception that it is written in lower case, red ink instead of black.)

I see two major things in the body of the letter that are objectionable. I will come right out and say that "Federal Validation Notice" is not a proper noun to my knowledge. I did a google search on it and found it written in the same way on RMA's website. I dunno on that one, just a strong suspicion, but the body of the letter DEF has two biggees...ttyall soon.
