Thanks to all for your great advice about these guys. I sometimes get so mad at them for their tactics, but I also do know the debt is mine. Let me rephrase that, some of the debt is mine.

What is the best way to make an offer on my $13.5k debt, and how much should I begin with? As I posted before, I have a maximum of $6k to offer. I'm afraid if I offer this amount, they will only ask for more. Should I start with another figure, like in the $4k range? It drives me insane that they paid only pennies on the dollar for this account. The total amount is not really theirs.

I've called about 10 different companies that can help me out, but they all want in the 25% range in fees of what is saved. Either I need some help in negotiating, or is someone out there a lawyer that will work for free?

Peace to all and thanks for your advice!

Scott
