You can reaffirm your mortgage in bankruptcy. What that means is that you formally agree to keep making the payments on your house and you get to keep the house. So you don't have to lose your home in bankruptcy. As long as you agree with your mortgage company to keep making the payments and you reaffirm the mortgage.
