I am a single woman in my 40's and own my house and mortgage. I want to know if it makes sense to buy a less expensive house so that I can pay off 30,000.00 off of my mortgage. One of my daughters has left for university so I could easily downsize from a 4 bedroom house. But I would hold on to my too large house if I thought I should. I have no other debt but do not make a large salary.
