I don't know your story and I don't know why you want to settle this account. I am not sure what an Intel check is, but if it has anything to do with your personal checking account, you are making a mistake. Once they have your checking account info you can expect to have the remainder of a balance detited the following month. Also, if you don't get it in writing there are no guarantees.
