Collector threats

I have a collection agency that is threatening to have the IRS audit me. That sounds a bit far-fetched to me, but I wanted to check and see if this is a) legal b) even possible. Any help would be appreciated. I live in Missouri, and they are also threatening to have my wages garnished.
