KY is not a community property state ! As far as the law and creditors are concerned, if one spouse or the other has those accounts as INDIVIDUALS, then that person, and that person ALONE is legally liable for the debt.

KY may have laws concerning 'equal division' when it comes to divorce, but that is a far cry from community property.

Were these debts the EX ran up in his name before or after the divorce ?
