Yes a general denial is correct, however you should ALSO claim SOL as an affirmative defense, even if you THINK you are within SOL. (you may be mistaken, and actually be beyond SOL for technical reasons)

Make sure you include in you denial that you have no knowledge of or any communication from the CA regarding their authority to file this claim, their licensing or bonding or any documentation indicating your application for the alleged debt, or any accounting of the amounts or interest charges on the alleged debt, so you reserve your right to claim usury as an additional defense.
