They are full of crap. The sol on the bad check is 3 years. They cannot file criminal charges against you as 1)the sol is up on that 2)only the OC can and 3)check fraud is very hard to prove. Their threats are full of it and illegal to boot. Pay nothing. They own the checks and paying the original creditor will not work as they could not legally take the money anyway. JBC will ignore every letter you send them so the best thing to do is create a papertrail and if they continue harrassing you just sue them.
