I'm in Raleigh and I sue debt collectors on a regular basis. I can cover the southeast part of the state, especially the Fayetteville area. It would indeed help to get them on tape. It's better, though, to send that drop-dead letter first, and if they call after getting that, they are hosed. Often when you sue CAs they just default anyway and then tapes don't matter.
