yes he is way off. in texas u r allowed to keep one car per licensed driver in the household. reaffirming means u keep paying it cause its a secured loan. u quit paying and they repo it. my kids did that too..big toys. its so easy nowdays cause they just want to move the merchandise they have. so they will drive a kid in debt quickly. however not sure on this..but if its not reaffirmed they wont come get it as long as u pay. miss one and they may very well come take it. i think reaffirming is safer but that is up to ur state and laws. i think they all have diff exemptions? texas u can keep 4 mules and 20 cows or something. lol. the car dealer doesnt have nothing to do with reaffirming. reaffirming is for property debt and u can reaffirm like a boat..my neighbor did their boat. they cant "insist" on ur reaffirming nothing. thats why one needs a lawyer and im not big on the do it urself bankrupcty stuff. complicated as hell. scary too lol. u usually can have a free consult with a BK lawyer most anywhere. and there is some good links on it also. i wish her luck! sounds like BK is the way for her to go.
