Lawsuit Answer

My stepfather received the papers of a lawsuit against me from Discovery. That account has a balance from March 1999. I suppose to answer soon to avoid a default judgment. What should I answer? I live in IL, and the balance is for $2,600 (including legal fees).

Just 3 months ago, a judge dismissed a case from that very same account number because in the info of the law firm my name appeared with an age 35 years older than my actual age, and a different address. This time, they seem to have the correct info, but in their papers they put as a proof a generic contract from Discovery, not the one that I suppose to have signed. Thank you for your help.
