You say it was last paid in March 1999? Was that on a current account or were there late charges and past due fees? Look on your credit report and see if you can tell the "status" date. On your Experian report it should show the "removal" date. You might be past the 5 year Ill. SOL, but in any case you should claim it as an affirmative defense, as, if they don't even have proof that it was your account, they likely have no proof to refute your SOL claim.
