Process Servers have to be licensed or, perhaps certified, in most if not all states. Using the Sheriff's seal ? Could be arrogance, could be legit. Call the county courthouse there and find out if there has been a lawsuit filed. If so, then the process server is legit. The CAN serve you at your last KNOWN address.
