Forgot what state you are in but in Ga. the law allows the use of "private process servers". The only catch is they must be a dis-interested party( not connected to ethier party in the caes).You are O.K. because you are not in the state. In Ga. they MUST file and serve you in the county you live in.
Be advised in some states they can file where the contract was signed and serve by placing notice in local paper.
Judgment then would be good but they must transfer it to your state to enforce.
From personal experence: From Ga. to Tn.= no good. Tn. to Ga. = good. Funny how the law works!
