Totally and absolutely with you, LadynRed!

Only wish I had done this internet search about the alarm one crooks earlier, so called security monitoring service but more like turned neighborhood robbers!

I am so angry with them too! I have done some investigative work though and found that Protection One, a competitor of alarm one, does follow standard and fair business practices by not only informing their customers at time of contract regarding their renewal policy, but also having them initial their policy on the top and front of their contract, not like the substandard, hypocritical so professing "how can we offer you excellent service," crooks at alarm one that hide their renewal policy in the back of their contract. With so many merchants and agreements, if we were to be reading each single one, we would not have anything else to do!!!! This is supposed to be a security company to which we have trusted our most expensive property, our home, and because of this trust relationship it had a legal duty to inform us about their renewal policy. See what Protection One does, it mails 60 days in advance a letter reminding their customers about the upcoming contract expiration and renewal of service unless a letter of cancellation is sent to them. The sneaky, deceptive and illegal manner in which alarm one conducts business in regards to binding customers to their "service" is more evident by their calling me about 2 months before my 3 year contract was to expired and asking me if I wanted to continue the service. I firmly stated NO! But not a word about their need for a letter 30 days before the contract expiration date. This is misinformation! Their rep. who called me 2 months before the expiration of my contract led me to believe that with his call and with my reply to discontinue service that the service was going to actually be discontinued! I am telling anyone who has an alarm one sign in front of their door about the appalling and deceptive tactics that they use! And, as I said to alarm one, you are trying to fleece me for about $500, but you will loose thousands of dollars because of the way in which you have treated me when I tell everyone I can about your unfair business practices.

I have contacted the Stockton's District Attorney's office and will be filling a complaint against alarm one to make them write a fair and just contract as Protection One does and to follow fair business practices by notifying 60 days in advance by mail every customer whose contract is about to expire in 60 days.

Thanks for posting your experience with this lousy company LadynRed. And, let's not be frighten by their bill collection threats. This company was willful in not informing us about their renewal policy and willful in not notifying us 60 in advance in writing about the upcoming contract expiration and their requirement to cancel in writing.

Thanks!
Louis
