I keep reading on these postings that you should "take your money out of your account before a CA can get hold of it. My question is, even if I do take out the money, when payday comes again, how do I cash the check? If I go to the bank and want to deposit part and get part in cash, will they do that? Or will the bank take the whole check? What about automatic withdrawls, (like car insurance payments)? I suppose that when that payment comes through, it wouldn't be covered since the account has been frozen? Would I then have to start going to a place that cashes checks? The places I know of will only cash a paycheck if it is under $400. Not a problem for me, but my husband's paycheck is over the limit. How would I get the check cashed without it being taken away by the creditors? I'm just curious as to how you manage to cash paychecks without the bank.
