Bk is a good thing in many situations, but should not be used if it is not necessary. Sara refers to credit reporting time limits on an old debt. She has not given us her State's Sol or the age of her other debts. If her debts are beyond Sol and no judgements, there is no need for bankruptcy, for she will have protection from future judgement attempts. If this is true, there are several methods to be used for credit report clean-up. If her debts are within Sol, (she did not say any CA's were threatening suit or even contacting her), she still has options to consider before making any decisions. We need for Sara to tell us the State where she resides in order to evaluate her situation.
