Go to your bank, have a notarized statement made up that your funds are from SS and exempt, they will flag your account to insure that a dishonest (DUH - there ARE no honest ones) CA doesn't try to freeze your account.

Have you checked your credit reports lately? I will almost BET that someone else's data is on your reports, that is the only reason I can think of why they are suing you, it MIGHT also explain the difference in the $$$. Did you check to see if the account # is really YOURS??
