I agree... most collection agencies get business only on contingency....they remit the monies less their commission to the "orginal creditor" which allows the orginal creditor to report it back to the credit bureau...its a loop hole for them. Some creditors sell the debt to the agency..at that point it reverts back to the orginal charge off date....the agency doesnt have the right to re-report.... thats why it is important to find out if the agency bought the debt or if they are working on contingency.
