Send the valdation/cease and desist/dispute letter linked below. These scum are not licensed or bonded in Utah, they are not able to do anything unless they either transfer the account to a Utah CA or hire a Utah lawyer to represent them. In addition, your friend's son is probably past the 4 year SOL, if he counted from his last payment to the ORIGINAL creditor, as otherwise this bottom feeder wouldn't have the account. Unless your friend co-signed on the account, the CA has NO legal permission to be bothering and threatening her. If they call again, tell them the call is being recorded to be turned over to the County and State authorities for prosocution under the laws against fraudulent extortion and illegal threatening.
