Yes, basically they can report the information, as long as the information provided DOLA, amount, etc. is accurate.

Since it is now beyond the SOL, there is not much they can do other than harass you. They can't sue you and win (as long as you show up and explain SOL). Their only hold is that they can keep reporting the negative information on your credit report until it drops off.

You can try to dispute it with the CRAs as not yours, but likely it will be verified by the CA and will remain on your record. Without being willing to pay anything, you are pretty much screwed, credit report wise, until it drops off 7 years after DOLA, unless you catch them in some violations and agree to trade your not suing them for removal.
