Just wanted to share my personal experiences.
I had a Chapter 13 BK 23 yrs ago in NC. It came off the CR after 7 yrs. I bought a home no problem. Went thru the 2nd lay-off of 3 in 5 yrs. and ended up moving to Colorado. Went to buy a house - the BK was back on the CR. Colorado does not distinguish between the different chapters of BK (or didn't at that time). Still, I got the house - had to show all the paperwork, etc. Even had a DOD Secret clearance background check. No problem with it. 2 yrs later, 3rd lay-off - moved to Michigan. BK gone from the CR after 10 yrs. Has never showed up since.
