What to do?

Here's the scoop: In Oct. of 1999, before my wife and I were married, I had severe problems paying my debt. I filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. Shortly after, we moved in together (still not married, yet), and she put me down on a couple of her accounts as an authorized user (Discover and Gateway). We married in Aug. 2000. We continued making minimum payments and sometimes we were late with those when money was tight. Eventually we just stopped paying all together (except for the bankruptcy, it got paid).

I have now been discharged from my bankruptcy. I go and pull a credit report on myself (equifax) and find that Discover and Gateway are on there and it is listed as an authorized user. Can I get this off of my credit report? Can my wife get it taken off? Also note that both accounts are listed as charge offs.

We were contemplating on trying to contact them to make arrangements to pay on the accounts now that we can afford it, but just recently (last week) we were contacted by collection agencies (both different for each account) wanting to settle. For instance, the collector who called in regards to discover (balance of about $6,000) wanted to settle for $0.40 on the dollar. They want this in one lump sum. I would be willing to settle, but I can't come up with $2,200.
What should I do? Can I still contact Discover to see if we can work out arrangements since the account has been charged off? I really want to take care of these debts, not only to get rid of them, but maybe one day we could get to where we could buy a home instead of rent.

Any advice?
