Was that the last payment to the original creditor before the account became deliquent? You are judgement proof. If they get a judgement, there is little they can do. However, it is important to protect your bank account. If you have every paid the account with your current bank account, close it now. They have that info and can use it if they get a judgement. Go to a different bank, and open a new account. If you have a relative that you trust, open a joint account with your relative as primary. THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING ULESS THEY SUE AND GET A JUDGEMENT. My strategy was to ignore CAs. It worked well for me, and was much less stressful. I had about 10 cards, and only one did sue and that was very close to the SOL (4 years in my state) CAs lie and threaten. The phone is their tool. Take it away from them. Do not allow them to harass you. If you igrnoe them, they will most likely move onto easier prey. Good Luck
