My mom received a bill from Asset Acceptance in her Maidenname for the amount of $15,000. I called for her to find out what it was for(the bill listed one credit card I never heard of) and found out it was for several different accounts she never had. I told the guy she never had those credit cards(closed in 1997), and he asked for her ss#. When I said I didn't have it, he told me what the last 4 numbers of the SS# he had on file were. Not my moms. And gave me the persons old address. My mom never lived there. He said my mom would have to call before they could do anything. My parents just started having financial difficulties a few months ago, and stopped paying on credit cards. What timing. Just wondering if anyone knows about them and what we should do?
