Hi Bob, actually Capital one did take me to court and they got a judgement against me. I checked all of my credit reports and there definitely are not any assets listed and all show me as unemployed. Although, 6 months ago I ran my credit report and for some reason Experian still showed that I was employed with the last company I worked with years ago. Maybe Capital one saw that and that motivated them to sue me. Other than that, I have no idea why they rushed to sue me so quickly for so little. Also..finding a BK lawyer I can afford won't be easy. A friend of mine recommended WETHEPEOPLE. This company has offices throughout the u.s. Basically they do all the paperwork for you to file the bankruptcy, have a lawyer look everything over before you go to court, and then I would file. The entire bankruptcy through WETHEPEOPLE would only cost $300-$500 plus $200 court fee. I heard this program was started by the mayor of new york to help those who couldn't afford high priced lawyers because they were in such deep debt. I know 3 people who have used them and so far and they don't have any complaints so if I decide to file I may go that route if I can't afford a private lawyer.:) Tia
