do we need to work out anything with this guy??
we got the first letter from their agency last week, so can we still write and ask for validation of the debt even though we have already communicated with him over the phone??

if we find we have to settle, we know to get it in writting, can we also put in writing that once they receive payment that account can not be sold or change hands with any other agencies (i've heard that if you settle, then they can take the remainder of what you don't pay of the original balance and sell it to someone else for collection)
