If I were in your shoes, I would go see a lawyer right now, before your credit is trashed anymore. If you are struggling just to live, and have eliminated extras, and no better job is in sight, do it quick, and don't tell your creditors. Opt out with the credit bureaus immediately. 1-800-OPT OUT. Keep track of your credit, so you can see who's doing what, Keep copies of everything. Some creditors sell even the bk 7 debts.

The absolute best way to bk is to do it before all the lates, charge offs, and collections hit your report.

The times are changing. Soon it will be more difficult to have debts discharged in bk.

No doubt there will be those here who disagree, and that's their right, but I've been there (not consumer debt, just medicalm but way more than I could pay, and they were suing me). This is what I would do in a heartbeat. You can recover from a bk much faster than from a zillion charge offs and collections, and the selling and reselling of the debts. And as I said, when the bk law changes, you might not be able to do this.

The strain you are under will go away, and you will be able to start rebuilding your life. There will be battles, but nothing like dealing with the stress you are under now.
