No, they're not the original creditor, and there's no mention of the original creditor in the complaint, the affidavit, or even as a party to the lawsuit. MCM did make mention of an "assignment," but never stated who assigned the account to them. And, of course, they didn't include a copy of the contract with the original creditor as an exhibit. I'm assuming they're bright enough to bring the contract with the OC to court. :-)
