My husband and I have been wondering about this scenario. What if we get a judgement against us in Texas. Then we wait the 7 years for it to drop off our credit report. We realize it is renewable. When it is renewed, will the judgement go back onto our credit report?

Also, since judgements do not attach to homesteads in Texas, should we have any problem selling our house in a title search even if it's not on our credit report?

From what we gather, the judgement would be gone from our credit reports after the alloted time. Of course, we would still owe it. And we shouldn't have any problem selling our house at any time since there can be no lien. We don't have anyone threatening to sue us yet, we're just wondering.Thanks.
