no offense SKb, this isnt a slam. just to tell u..in texas..or where im at..there r no jobs. unless u want taco bell or 20 hours if ur lucky at micky d's. (who wont let u work 2 places) literaly. my son in law is a pipefitter and welder. a great job! 25+$ a hour. he used to get jobs in all states..they r kinda gypsies and get paid a per diem plus additionals if the job is ahead of schedule. there r few pipe fitting jobs or welding. which now start at 8$ a hour cause there is aboout 5,000 people for each 1 job. he ended up in a temp agency..who send people out for short term jobs at min wage so the companies dont have to pay any benefits. the plants here have all gone to temps,. its just BAD here now..for real. i dont know where this poster is from..or what they do..but i do know texas..and the cities..and its been awful. we r all in the process of school..restructuring our lives, so to speak, after a few years of no medical insurance with a sick baby..and its tough to dig out of this hole. yes we all had savings..and retirements..and they went. quickly. it has opened my eyes...like u have no idea. beggin for food stamps..begging for meds..its been awful. my daughter went to work for a rest home..doin laundry..3 weeks later she was laid off cause corporate was downsizing. to a staff unable to manage anyones care for being old and sick. in texas its pretty bad. the gov just likes to pretend it doesnt exist..and the jobs they (the gov) brag on ...r asking "do u want fries with that?" lol. i hope canada is better..:) its amazing the jobs..80,000 a year salaries..who simply tell u ur whole crew is now gone. entire companies have gone under for good. people r walking off frm 200,000 houses..cars..its frightening. american airlines laid off a bunch. hotels being built sit half down. only saying what is happening here and in my life..:) whats bad is the landlords here..the creditors..etc..simply dont care. if everyone would pull together..it might be rebuilt. but most wont. they say u pay or ur gone. u pay cash or the dr wont see u. and thats starting a ball our government is not paying attention to. its a cycle..a path..that once down is hard to get back up. america has a wonderful public image..and underneath its not like that. people r hungry..people have no medical care..and so far the USA is simply acting like it isnt happening. but frm what i saw...frm the other side..was appalling. had we been the generational poor..we woulda been covered. but now there is the new poor. and the system isnt ready. stay warm way up there!
