If you ever announce your intentions of bankruptcy to any creditor, they may note the date you mentioned this. Any future charges made to anyone after this date could cause problems because the creditors could say you already formulated a plan to BK this. Let’s say you threaten BK in January. Then you change your mind. You use the cards some more. Then September, you actually file. Creditors could jump back and say you had BK in mind in January, then every charge after that time to anyone on any account could conceivably be called into question. Don’t ever threaten bankruptcy or ever tell anyone you are even thinking about it. Just blindside them with it whenever you actually do file. Your plans may change in the next few months, and you don’t want to be on the record with anyone as ever having mentioned bankruptcy.

Don’t talk to anyone about anything right now. If they call, let your machine pick up. If you pick up by mistake, just hang up the phone. There’s absolutely nothing to be gained for you to speak with anybody at this stage. You’re never under any obligation to keep anyone informed of your plans.
