We don't know her situation but she was probably looking for one. The average time it takes for a person to get a job after losing one is about eight months, and then you take a cut in pay. My brother in law was out of work for 17 months. He put in his application in at every company in his area. In the first year, he got called to three interviews. This was after sending in at least one hundred applications and resumes. My BIL was a computer-aided design engineer.
