I've been avoiding my bad news mail for quite a while now, and tonight I finally had the courage to look over about a year's worth of correspondence. Aside from threats of arbitration, I also noticed that one account wasnt' written off until 2003, even though it has been past due with no available credit since sometime in 2001. I did try making payments on the account up until 2003, but it was never current since 2001. Does the SOL start when the account goes delinquent and isn't caught up again, or when the account is written off? I was on one of their programs with reduced payments and interest but was unable to keep up with it. Would they consider that bringing the account current so that the SOL didn't start until 2003? I guess it's good I finally started looking at this stuff, but I feel worse than ever right now, and that's pretty bad.
