Look at your credit report. Find the entry for your ORIGINAL CREDITOR. Look for EITHER the "status" date, or the FIRST 30 day late BEFORE the chargeoff.

You made payments to someone "sporadically" but it was likely NOT the original creditor, as they are required to charge off the account after 180 days.

If you have a snail mail version of your Experian report, it will show the "removal" date- this is 7 years after the reported first delinquency (start of SOL),if you have a "3 in 1" or similar report, it is worthless for this purpose. Get an individual report snail mail and it will have ALL the data you need.
