hello - back in 1998 i could no longer pay some bills & 1 happened to be a credit card from us bank , well long story short on all 3 of my credit reports this account shows date of last activity 5-98 & account charged off 11 -98 which is correct . my question is i sent off to experian to see my new updated report & it shows some company named cavalry back in october 2003 says i now owe them the 4500. with date of last actavity being 10 -03 which is a full 5 years after i stopped paying us bank . is this legal ? my friend says its not cause they cant put different dates on the report if i never paid them whick i did not. what can i do if anything . im in florida , thanks .
