If the account was assigned instead of sold, can you still negotiate with the original creditor? The advice that is posted on this site, is most of the advice given (such as ignoring calls, validation letters, cease and desist letters, and what to do if sued) good advice for both assigned and sold accounts or will the situation change pending on whether it is sold or assigned??
