Dear Tia;

Contact Federal Trade Commission by phone Monday morning. Start a complaint, get things moving. Tell them exactly what you have told this board. Follow up with written account of numerous illegal threats uttered by these scumbags.
No, IRS will not penalize you. The debt is charged-off, not forgiven. Ironically, if you settle with these scabies, the 'forgiven' amount is taxed as income. And there is no reason, not one, to settle with these thieves laughingly referred to as 'collections professionals'.

Why report them? It lets them know you know your rights, encourages them to look for targets elsewhere. Violations are worth money. They sue? You countersue. They might end up owing you.

'IRS' ruse is an old scam pulled by these mammon-maggots all the time. Why? Why do idiots with three brain cells bust into homes in full view of neighbors and steal a TV worth ten bucks? Because they make money at it. And to think, the jerkxxxs who threatened you have one brain cell less than the tv thugs....
Idiotically,

Keyser Soze
Nail them. No one has the right to threaten you'
in the sanctity of your own home. Smash these liver-flukes with every legal device available.
