In my case, they first came Airborne Express, and my son signed for it.(Ugh)For the 2nd account, Airborne opened my front door and threw it on the floor, I guess because nobody answered the door. 2 mos. later they sent it again registered and my husband signed for it. Of course that was before I knew never to sign for any registered letters. This was around July/Aug. In Nov. I got the letter from Upton, Cohen & Slamowitz about settling with the OC, but at that time I didn't have the funds to do so. I was only back to work for 1 month. On 1/20 the summons was served to my house for a court date of 2/24. I have hired a lawyer. I must tell you that their process server or skip tracer or whatever he is staked out my house for 2 weeks prior to my being served( I actually wasn't served personally, he threw it at my son & left).
My neighbors noticed the car parked very early in the am, so obviously he saw the school bus pick up my kids at 7 am. I guess he figured there was an adult present. He also followed me to work and parked outside. I guess to get the name of the company I work for. When my son gave me the description of the car, it clicked.Only because a friend of mine has the same car and when I spotted it near my job, I thought it was him. Be careful.
