I have been summoned to court in Missouri by Credigy this week. Went to court 12/02 for same account only w/First Select instead and plaintiff dismissed without prejudice due to lack of evidence. Now Credigy includes copy of contract signed w/Discover. I closed the account in 1998 and balance was 970. Now balance is over $1800 of which the law office said last year included no interest. I have copies of past letters written to Discover attempting to settle, as well as a list of payments to Discover while I was working with one of two cccs. Account has been charged off on credit report. Any advice on possible defenses or solution...such as offers to settle or anything. Greatly appreciated
