I am in NY and looked at the NY Exemptions in a BK chapt7 from several websites and am totally confused. Since I am a sole proprieter and use a bunch of older computers to do my work I see the statement for exemptions as this:

"Farm machinery, team, food for 60 days, professional furniture, books & instruments to $600 total
Uniforms, medal, equipments,. Emblem, horse, arms and sword of military member"

Pardon my french but who the hell has a "team", how many americans have farm machinery. But more importantly is there anyone in the USA who runs a business with $600 or less worth of "Tools of Trade" ?

Is the "Tools of Trade" exempetion some kind of joke, a throwback to the late 1800's ?. If I run a small business and want to survive I certainly need to be allowed more than $600 worth of my "tools".
