when my mom passed away..the only debt i was responsible for was her funeral (cause i signed for it knowingly). her estate is..should she have one. the courts handle the probate and the disbursement ..or her executor which may be u. its a far cry frm u being responsible. this ..judgemental..i DO know about. should she be in a nursing home..and u signed as responsible party..u will be responsible for her meds and all her needs..including their bill. never sign that. they will tell someone "has" to. bulls**t. someone DOES NOT have to. if u r on one now..remove urself. i did. its a way to get like a co signer to protect their debts when the old person dies. her regular bills..u send a death cert to the company..they will ask is there a estate? if so they address their bills to the court. if not..they simply r SOL. and that isnt statute of limitations lol. thats s*** outta luck. this i know about. lol.
