Someone else had a situation which had progressed to Court- they went through pre-trial and the defendant sat silent, and did not settle. The judge set the case for trial.

The CA lawyer called every day and offered to settle for a percentage of the alleged debt. Defendant said no.

Went to court and guess what- case dimisssed. The CA lawyer is not refiling.

I am not a lawyer, but I think this is a bluff to get you to pay. Once you sign those papers, it will be very easy for them to get a judgment and garnish, etc.

If I were you, I would just wait them out. In this case, all deadlines are artificial- made up by them to force you to do something.
