In some jurisdictions you have to answer the summons. My summons said I was to appear. Had I not filed Chapter 7, I would have appeared at the hearing and told the judge that I did not remember this debt and that I didn't remember anything of that amount. I would have asked that they validate that it was actually my debt and that the charges were my charges. I would have asked them to validate all interest charges too. I would have had a real bad memory on that day. Well, I do have my senior moments.
